Astronomy at the Beach is a free, family-friendly event that takes place once a year. The Great Lakes Association of Astronomy Clubs (GLAAC), a group of amateur astronomy clubs and educational institutions in Southeastern Michigan, organizes the event. The event’s goal is to inspire curiosity and a love of astronomy and science. Last year’s event was held at Island Lake Recreation Area.  The dates are in September dependent on the moon phase.  Visit the GLAAC website for current information when it becomes available.
